SAN DIEGO - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team (6-5, 1-0 WCC) captured another victory, this time over San Diego (4-6, 0-2 WCC), 4-2, Sunday afternoon at the Northview Tennis Courts.

After a tough doubles competition, the Gaels bounced back in singles to seal the win over the Toreros. Both freshman Mariia Kozyreva and Hind Abdelouahid cruised their way in three-set victories on courts 1 and 2. Clementine Clement and Vanessa Nommensen continued to secure the win for the Gaels as Clement swept the victory in two sets and Nommensen in three.

"We dug ourselves a bit of a hole in doubles and were down a set in three singles matches," said head coach Simon Harston.

"The team showed so much fight and determination. The whole team should be really proud of how they turned it around."

Saint Mary's will return home to take on San Jose State on Friday at 2 p.m.
