MORAGA, Calif. -- In the season's second West Coast Conference match, Saint Mary's (8-5, 2-0 WCC) delivered an impressive result, defeating Santa Clara (6-6, 1-1 WCC), 4-0, Sunday afternoon at Timothy Korth Tennis Courts.
The Gaels' doubles teams displayed dominating tennis, winning on all three courts by the score, 6-3. Clementine Clement and Aubane Ville have won their last three doubles contests together on court 3.
Senior Vanessa Nommensen is now riding a seven match win streak on court 6 in singles play. The senior won the first match of the day in straight-sets and is now 8-1 on court 6.
Kareena Manji also won in straight-set fashion and is now 6-2 in singles matches on court 4. Emma Critser clinched the victory for SMC with a 6-0, 6-2 win on court 5. Critser is now 4-5 on the year.
SMC will travel to LMU and Pepperdine for a conference road trip. The Gaels will take on the Lions on Wednesday, March 28 at 11 a.m. PDT before taking on nationally-ranked Pepperdine at 1:30 p.m. PDT on Thursday, March 29.
