MALIBU, Calif. - Saint Mary's women's tennis (8-7, 2-2 WCC) competed in several close sets, but ultimately fell to nationally-ranked No. 5 Pepperdine (12-1, 2-0 WCC), 7-0, at the Ralph-Straus Tennis Center Thursday afternoon.
Mariia Kozyreva battled No. 25 Luisa Stefani in a tough two-set battle. The first year player fell 6-4, 7-5 in the competitive match on court 1. Fellow freshman Hind Abdelouahid fell 7-5, 6-4 on court 2 to No. 15 Ashley Lahey.
Junior Clementine Clement faced No. 12 Mayar Sherif on court 3 and kept the match close, but fell 6-3, 6-3.
Saint Mary's will host San Francisco for a remake match on Wednesday, April 4. First serve is set for 1:30 p.m. PDT.
