MORAGA, Calif. — The Gaels are beginning a four-game homestand this week with a matchup against Pepperdine on Thursday and LMU on Saturday.

SCOUTING REPORT
Saint Mary's is coming off of a week of wins after defeating both Santa Clara and San Diego to improve their conference record to 4-3 and their overall record to 11-7. SMC is currently ranked 17th in the nation and 1st in the WCC in three-point field goal percentage (.386) while being ranked 11th in the nation and first in the conference in field goal percentage (.482). The team is ranked 46th in the RPI Poll which is third in the WCC behind BYU (20) and Gonzaga (10). The Gaels also rank first in the conference in scoring offense with an average of 75.2 points per game.

The Gaels have been an offensive powerhouse this season in the WCC with five players making it onto the top-30 list in scoring for the conference. Sydney Raggio is 13th in the conference with an average of 12.1 points per game followed closely by Megan McKay who is 16th with 11.8 points per game. Sam Simons (18th, 11.2), Emily Codding (24th, 9.9), and Jasmine Forcadilla (30th, 8.8) are also included on the list. Saint Mary's also has six players in the top-15 for field goal percentage including McKay (1st, .566), Simons (3rd, .538), Madeline Holland (4th, .529), Emily Codding (10th, .488), Raggio (13th, .481), and Forcadilla (14th, .467). Raggio is 16th among active rebound leaders with 896 in her career.

McKay and Simons were named in the NCAA Women: Midseason All-Australian; McKay was named eighth on the top-ten list while Simons was an honorable mention. McKay has come up big for the Gaels this year and has scored double digits in six straight games this season and has the highest shooting percentage on the squad and in the WCC (.566). She is 18th among active Division I field-goal percentage leaders shooting .588 in her career. Simons has also produced well for SMC in her freshman season with a shooting percentage of 538, which is third in the conference, and a three-point percentage of .453, also third in the conference.

PEPPERDINE
The Waves are ranked fourth in the conference with a record of 5-2 in the WCC and 11-6 overall. Pepperdine is currently on a four-game win streak after victories over conference opponents San Diego, Santa Clara, USF, and LMU. The team has been dominant at home this season with a 5-1 record, however they hold a record of 4-4 on the road.

Yasmine Robinson-Bacote currently leads Pepperdine while shooting .448 from the field and is ranked first in the conference in scoring. She averages 18.8 points per game and is fourth on the team with a three-point percentage of .386. Rose Pflug holds the top spot on the team for three-point shooting (.426) and is ranked fifth in the conference.

LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
LMU has posted a 10-9 overall record with a 3-4 conference record so far this season. The Lions are on a two-game losing streak and most recently took an 86-95 loss to Pepperdine. The team did however manage to hold No. 20 BYU to 55 points during their match on January 5, which is four shy of the Cougars lowest score all season.

Leading the Lions and the WCC in rebounding this season is Bree Alford who is averaging 9.1 per game and has a total of 172. She is second on the team with a shooting percentage of .437 which is just behind LMU's top shooter Jasmine Jones (.439). The Lions are ranked third in the conference in both field goal (.394)  and three-point percentage defense (.292).
