TRK | Gaels Record Multiple Top-Three Finishes at Brutus Hamilton Challenge

BERKELEY, Calif. – Saint Mary's recorded a number of impressive finishes this weekend at the Brutus Hamilton Challenge including race wins and multiple personal bests.

For the women's team, freshman Amrita Vepa recorded a 1:05.83 in the 400 meter dash. Ellen Burbank (4:54.17) and Katie Watson (5:12.74) raced in the 1500 and earned third place and 11th place respectively. Kaela Dishion landed herself a third place finish in the 5K race with a time of 18:25.51. But the race of the day went to Emma McCarthy who not only earned herself a first place finish in the 800 meter, but she also recorded a personal best and a heat win.

For the men's team, seven Gaels raced in the 800 meter including Anthony Vazquez (5th - 1:58.11), Tommy Bell (6th - 1:58.20), Nolan Dozier (7th - 1:58.32), Jayman Peterson (8th - 1:58.36), Moses Bojorquez (14th - 2:01.95), Michael Lopez (15th - 2:02.09), and Mason Labadie (16th - 2:03.83), who recorded a personal best. Bojorquez (4:00.53) and Labadie (4:08.27) also raced in the 1500 and placed third and 10th respectively. On the final day of competition, Dozier and Vazquez both competed in the one mile race with Dozier earning fifth place (4:16.41) and Vazquez earning 10th (4:32.59).
