STANFORD, Calif. — The Saint Mary's men's track and field team traveled to Stanford to take on the Payton Jordan Invitational on Friday afternoon at Cobb Track. 11 Gaels competed in either the 800m or 1500m at the meet, with numerous strong showings and PRs.
The Gaels had a strong showing in the 800 meters, with Alan Solari (1:52.82), Jason Habash (1:53.07), and Spencer Wirshing (1:53.30) leading the way for Saint Mary's in first, second, and third place in section two.
Oisin Spillane paced the Gaels in the 1500-meter, earning his personal best time of 3:53.04 and placing second in section four. Anthony Erikson followed him in third in the section with a time of 3:54.03. Freshman Jacob Schuetze earned his personal best time, clocking in at 4:02.83.
The Gaels will return to action at the Franson Last Chance Meet on May 7-9.
