

MT&F | Gaels Record Standout Performances in Oregon, Spillane Resets Program Record in 3000m Steeplechase

EUGENE & PORTLAND, Ore. — The Saint Mary's men's track and field program traveled to Oregon to compete in the Oregon Twilight on Friday evening and the Portland Twilight on Saturday evening. The Gaels delivered multiple personal bests and program top-10 marks.
At the Oregon Twilight, Oisin Spillane continued his remarkable season in the 3000-meter steeplechase, breaking his own program record that he set just last month with a time of 8:41.87. The mark currently ranks 34th in the 2026 Division I Top 100.
Spencer Wirshing placed fourth in the 800 meters clocking in at 1:52.10. The time ranks the junior at the eighth fastest time in program history, adding to his fourth, sixth, and ninth fastest times already in the record book.
In the 1500-meter invitational, Alan Solari paced the Gaels and earned his personal best time of 3:49.30, making him the fifth-fastest athlete in program history. Anthony Erikson followed with a personal best of 3:50.56.
On Saturday evening at the Portland Twilight, Solari led in the 800-meter and clocked the second-fastest time in program history with a time of 1:51.64 (PR). Erikson earned his second personal best of the weekend, finishing in 1:54.65.
Saint Mary's will look to continue its strong performances into the final meet of the season at the West Coast Last Chance Meet on Saturday, May 16 in San Francisco.
