

MT&F | Saint Mary’s Men’s Track and Field Caps Off Regular Season with Multiple Personal Best Times at West Coast Last Chance

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — The Saint Mary's men's track and field team capped off a successful regular season on Saturday at the West Coast Last Chance with strong finishes and new personal best times.
Jason Habash kicked off the momentum for the Gaels in the 1500-meter, placing fourth overall with his personal best time of 3:48.70. The mark ranks him as the third fastest athlete in program history. Alan Solari (3:50.48) and Anthony Erikson (3:54.23) placed seventh and tenth overall, respectively. Moss Michelsen and Nick Shoemaker earned their best times in the event, crossing the finish line in 4:06.58 and 4:12.26, respectively.
In the 5000 meters, Jacob Moffett paced Saint Mary's and placed sixth overall in 14:59.77. Joel Fischer followed in tenth place with his personal best time of 15:10.70, while Andrew Perez also recorded his best time of 15:53.38.
Spencer Wirshing led the way for the Gaels in the 800-meter, placing third overall in 1:52.73. Habash crossed the finish line in 1:53.01 for a fifth-place finish, while Solari placed ninth in 1:54.41. Zack Springer (1:55.17), Ethan Gray (1:57.39), Aiden Tarantino (2:03.29), Nick Shoemaker (2:04.20), and Bryan Cromartie (2:05.05) all earned their best times in the event.
The West Coast Last Chance concluded a strong 2026 regular season for the Gaels. After his impressive performance in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Oregon Twilight, Oisin Spillane will compete in the National Quarterfinals at the NCAA West Regional in Fayetteville, Arkansas on May 29, with a chance to punch his ticket to the National Final Site in Eugene, Oregon.
