BASE | Jordon Twohig Named Associate Head Coach

MORAGA, Calif. – Head baseball coach Greg Moore has announced the hire of Jordon Twohig as Associate Head Coach. Twohig brings 14 years of collegiate coaching experience, serving on eight different staffs and with six different collegiate teams including a stint with Saint Mary's from 2004 to 2006.

Twohig's most recent stay was for six years at Cal State Northridge as the Associate Head Coach while acting as the Recruiting Coordinator and hitting and outfielders' coach. Twohig consistently led his players to the top of the conference multiple offensive categories including: homeruns, doubles, triples, runs batted in, hits, walks, and slugging percentage. Furthermore, he was instrumental in team's highest conference finishes in 17 years. With Twohig as the recruiting coordinator, CSUN won more Big West games than in any four-year span. He also led the efforts in assembling both a top-30 and a top-40 recruiting class with the Matadors and helped fundraise $2.5 million towards a new stadium. Twohig also spent extensive time aiding the community in the San Fernando Valley and the Los Angeles and Ventura County areas.

Before his time with the Matadors, he spent the 2010-2013 seasons on the staff of University of Washington. With the Huskies, he helped the program's recruiting and academic efforts. In 2011, he once again brought in a top-30 recruiting class which included seven players who were selected in the 2014 MLB Draft.

Beforehand, Twohig was the head coach at Ohlone College in Fremont, Calif. from 2008-2010 and led his team to unprecedented success during that time. In his three seasons, he compiled a 94-43 record, winning two regional championships, a super regional championship, and a state title as well. In his final season with the Renegades, he led his team to a state championship which was the first state title in any sport in the school's history. The previous season, after the team's first league title in 18 years, he was named the Coast Conference Coach of the Year.

From 2003-2010, Twohig spent time coaching in a myriad of other positions, including stretches with Feather River College (Assistant Coach, 2003-2004), Saint Mary's (Volunteer Assistant, 2004-2006), the Pittsburgh Pirates (Associate Scout, 2007-2008), and the NorCal Baseball Club (Head Coach, 2006-2010).

Before his coaching days, Twohig was an outfielder and left-handed pitcher at Feather River College and York College of Nebraska. At York, he was voted a team captain in both of his seasons and enjoyed a successful 2003 campaign: .363 batting average, seven homeruns, and 61 RBI. He was named All-Conference in both seasons and was an Academic All-American in 2002 with a 4.0 GPA.

Twohig received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in 2003 with an Emphasis in Secondary and Physical Education. Then, he earned a Master's in Science, Sport Management from the United States Sports Academy in 2004.
