MSOC | No. 11 Gaels Handle Argonauts in Exhibition

Saint Mary's easily handled Notre Dame de Namur in a Saturday exhibition match in Moraga.
MORAGA, Calif. — No. 11 Saint Mary's wrapped up their preseason schedule with a dominating 2-0 win over Div. II Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
It didn't take long for the Gaels to take the lead as Lucas Andrews broke the scoreless tie in the 15th minute with a rocket to the left of the Argonaut keeper off a pass from freshman Valentin Kurz. Andrews led the Gaels with five shots in 62 minutes of play.
Filippo Zattarin scored the other goal for SMC in the 74th minute off a penalty kick. The foul for Notre Dame was one of 23 fouls the team committed in the match compared to just six by the Gaels.
Saint Mary's ended up outshooting NDNU 24-2 in the match with 11 of their shots coming on goal. SMC also took nine corners compared to only one for the Argonauts. 12 different Gaels fired an attempt at the Notre Dame net and 20 total players appeared for Saint Mary's.
Remi Prieur and Nicholas Lapinid each played one half in goal for the Gaels. Lapinid made the only save of the match.
