Restani Named Student-Athlete of the Week

Joseph Restani has been named the Saint Mary's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of September 24-30.

MORAGA, Calif. — Joseph Restani has been named the Saint Mary's Student-Athlete of the Week after an incredible five-goal performance in the Gaels' two matches last week.

Against Sacramento State, Restani scored a hat trick, including the game-winning goal, while taking five shots. His final score was a pretty volley off a cross from Jake Rudel to complete the feat in the 70th minute. The Gaels ultimately won the match, 4-0.

The senior also scored both of SMC's goals in their 4-2 loss to UC Davis, their first loss since 2017 and first home loss in over three years. Restani took three shots in 75 minutes of play.

Restani is now second on the team in goals and points with six and 12, respectively. He is just one point shy of his career-record set last season as a junior.
