MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (1-3) will look to pick up their second win of the season as they will host two matches at home this weekend.
The Gaels will take on California Baptist on Friday at 1:30 p.m. before facing off against Wagner College on Sunday at 1 p.m. Links to live stats and video can be found on the team's schedule page.
Sophie Santos has been at the forefront of the Gaels' efforts through the start of the season after she scored the game-winning goal against Green Bay in the final few minutes of the contest last weekend. The senior has tallied nine shots thus far with four of those coming on frame.
ABOUT CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
The Lancers are currently 3-1 this season after picking up a 1-0 victory at Southern Utah last weekend for their third shutout of the year. During the matchup, California Baptist outshot their opponent 19-12 with half of those coming on goal.
Amy Aquino and Ari Coronado have carried the offense so far with their team-leading two goals while Karley Weeks leads the team with 16 shots. Last season, the Lancers went 12-5-1 overall and 4-4-0 in the Western Athletic Conference.
After their match against the Gaels, California Baptist will head to Sacramento to take on Sacramento State on Sunday. The contest between the Gaels and the Lancers will be the first meeting between the two teams in program history.
ABOUT WAGNER COLLEGE
Wagner College will head into Sunday's match with a 1-3 record so far this season as their lone win was against Delaware State in a 5-0 decision. Last weekend, the Seahawks fell in two matches against Fairfield and Rhode Island at their home field. Wagner collected 17 shots over the span of both games.
Forward Maria Nunez scored two of the five total goals for the Seahawks in the contest against Delaware State and has tallied seven shots to lead the team's offense. Goalie Delaney Beck has notched 15 saves in five appearances while as a team, the Seahawks have recorded 26 saves compared to their opponents with 16.
Saint Mary's and Wagner will face off against each other for the first time in program history on Sunday. Following the match against the Gaels, the Seahawks will return to New York to take on Binghamton.
