ROW | Gaels to Hit the Water Against UC Davis this Weekend

MORAGA, Calif. – The Gaels will kick off their season this weekend with a scrimmage against UC Davis prior to their first official race.
SMC will travel to Davis on Saturday for a scrimmage against the Aggies' rowing team before they are set to compete in the Sacramento State Invite scheduled for mid-March. The Gaels' last competition was in early November at the Head of the Lagoon, where Saint Mary's walked away with a number of strong finishes. SMC's collegiate four boat earned first place with a race time of 21:14.5, followed closely by the second Gael boat who earned the number two spot with a 22:11.6 finish. Next up, the collegiate novice four boat raced a 27:49.4 time and earned ninth place. Last but not least was the collegiate eight race in which Saint Mary's also claimed first place with a 19:52.4 finish time, eight seconds ahead of their competition.
