LAST TIME OUT
The Gaels couldn't slow down the scoring punch of the #13 team in the country as Oregon State defeated the Gaels 4-0 in a non-conference match up.
The Gaels had an opportunity to cut it to a one-goal game in the 34th minute. Gael Quintero forced a takeaway in the Gaels defensive end and Riley Lynch scooped it up and raced through the Beavers defense. Lynch and Valentin Kurz executed a beautiful give-and-go and when Lynch got it back he drew a penalty in the box. But on the penalty shot, Sebastian Schacht's blistering attempted to the lower-left corner of the goal was stopped on a miraculous, diving attempt by the Oregon State keeper to preserve the shutout.
ABOUT PACIFIC
The Tigers roster includes two preseason All-WCC midfielders in juniors Ryan Her and Yazid Omri, after both were selected to the conference's all second team during the spring. Pacific finished the shortened season this past spring with a 2-7 record overall and 2-4 mark in conference play. This fall, the Tigers were picked to finish sixth in the WCC preseason poll after finishing seventh in the final conference standings during the spring.
The Gaels are 8-5-3 all time against Pacific and split the season series last year, with the Gaels winning 1-0 at home in double OT and Pacific winning 3-2 in Stockton, Calif.
