MORAGA, Calif. — The Australian men's basketball national team, featuring four former Saint Mary's Gaels, takes on Team USA tonight in the semifinals of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Game time for the semifinal matchup is set for 9:15 p.m. PT on NBC Networks. A link to the broadcast schedule can be found here: HOW TO WATCH
Australia is off to a 4-0 start, winning their first three pool play games and then beating Argentina in the quarterfinals yesterday.
Saint Mary's is the only college in the nation to feature four former players on one team, including three in the starting lineup with Patty Mills, Matthew Dellavedova and Jock Landale. SMC will also have former assistant coach and player Adam Caporn on the bench with Australia, making his second Olympics.
So far, Mills has been leading the Boomers, averaging 20.8 points per game and 5.3 assists per game, while Jock Landale is second on the team averaging 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds.
Australia is looking for its first basketball medal in the nation's history. A win tonight would clinch that, while a loss would still give them a chance at a bronze medal on Friday night.
The Boomers beat Team USA a couple of weeks ago in an exhibition match in Las Vegas.
