

BASE | 2023 Schedule Set for Gaels

MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's Baseball has released its 2023 schedule which includes 28 home dates and one neutral-site series.
The season gets started at home at Louis Guisto Field with a double header on February 17 for the first two of four games against the University of Illinois Chicago.
From there the Gaels will head to Texas to take on UT San Antonio for four games with a double header on Saturday, February 25.
Then they will take on Central Michigan for three games at Islanders Field in Lathrop, Calif. from March 3-5, and will then play a fourth game with them at home on Tuesday, March 8. The Chippewas were 43-19 last season, defeated top-seed Ball State to win the Mid-American Conference Tournament, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament where they were eliminated by No. 13 Florida.
Xavier University will come to town from March 9-11 with a double header on Sunday the 11th. The Musketeers were 33-27 and advanced to the Big East Conference Championship game against UConn behind a powerful offense in 2022.
West Coast Conference play begins on March 17 with the Santa Clara Broncos in town followed by the Gaels visiting BYU in their last meetings against the Cougars as a member of the WCC.
Along with Santa Clara, SMC will host Portland, Pacific, LMU, and San Diego. They will play Pepperdine, USF, and Gonzaga on the road.
The Gaels non-conference single games at home include CSU Bakersfield, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, Cal, and San Jose State.
