LAST TIME OUT
Saint Mary's Track competed in the Aggie Open two weekends ago, marking yet another successful meet so far this 2022 season. Starting with some healthy competition in the 800m race, Rayna Stanziano remained on top with a time of 2:09.13, but she wasn't alone. She was followed by Klara Frih and Malia Gay who took second and third in the 800m, trailing just behind Stanziano with times of 2:12.60 (Frih) and 2:14.39 (Gay).
More standout performances of the weekend included Molly Dreher with a personal best in the 800m and 1500m, Hannah Wohlenberg became the fourth Gael this season to run the 3000m in less than 10 minutes when she finished in 9:54.43, and Maddie Fletcher topped it off with a win in the 200m.
The men's performance in the 1500m was also well deserving of some recognition. Chandler Maciel finished in third place overall, with a time of 3:54.28, in the 1500m when competing in the most competitive heat. Maciel, along with his teammates Sebastian Andersson and Richard McLain, all put up their fastest marks at the collegiate level in the 1500m.
The personal bests do not end there, as both Payton Fox and Thomas Osborne hit PR's in the 3000m. Fox accomplished an eight-second personal best, with a time of 8:42.92 and Osborne reached a time of 8:49.59 in the 3000m.
