MORAGA, Calif. – After a come from behind performance to draw 2-2 against SDSU last night, the Gaels head across town to take on UCSD Tritons.

LAST TIME OUT
The Gaels are coming off back-to-back draws, coming from two goals down on Friday night to tie the Aztecs 2-2. The Gaels started the match well, forcing a few early saves from the San Diego State goalkeeper. Despite creating 11 shots in first half, it was the Aztecs who were the team to take advantage, scoring on their first shot on goal to make it 1-0 in the 42nd minute.
Saint Mary's goalkeeper Taylor Poland committed a foul just a minute into the second half, resulting in a penalty kick for the Aztecs. San Diego converted to make it 2-0.
The Gaels were finally rewarded for their hard offensive work in the 54th minute when Isabella Santavicca, who had played well all game, buried a free kick to make it 2-1 SDSU.
With just under fifteen minutes left in the game, it was senior defender Laura Trapero Sanz who managed to tie the game up for the Gaels. Just the second goal in her Saint Mary's career, and the first since her sophomore season, Trapero Sanz timely goal helped Saint Mary's tie up the game at the 77:26 mark.

The Tritons are coming off a 2-0 home defeat to New Mexico on Friday night. Last season, UC San Diego finished with a 5-10-2 overall record. So far, the Tritons are 1-4-1. Sunday's game marks the first ever meeting between the Gaels and the Tritons, and it's the second of four straight home games for UC San Diego.
