SAN DIEGO - The Gaels took control in the second half after trailing 1-0 in San Diego, scoring all four of their goals in the final 45 minutes for a 4-2 win over the Toreros.

San Diego went ahead in the 12th minute on a shot from 40 yards out by Josefine Schlichting. She stole around the edge of the circle in the Torero's offensive half, and unleashed a right-footed shot that zipped over keeper
Taylor Poland's outstretched hand to make it 1-0

The Gaels evened the score 1-1 at the 48th minute mark. Gaels kept the ball in Toreros territory where shots were taken by
Marissa Garcia and
Sydney Middaugh got deflected before Salvetti put it in the net with a left footer in the lower left corner of the net. It was Salvetti's 10th goal of the season, making her the first SMC player with 10-or-more goals in a season since Jessica Menzhuber in 2009.

Between the 56th minute and the 66th minute the Gaels were able to get three shots past the Toreros keeper. At the 56th minute
Emma Barthel passed to teammate Middaugh, where Middaugh shot with her left foot to bring the score to 2-1 after the ball slipped through the keeper's arms.

In the 64th minute,
Emmie Ennis raced past one San Diego defender and faked out another before she passed to
Briana Salvetti, where Salvetti chipped the ball with her right foot only having to redirect it. Salvetti is the first Gael in over a decade with double digit goals.Â

Just two minutes later,
Savannah Schwarze fed a perfect cross to Salvestrin where she headed the ball into the back of the net to Give the Gaels a 4-1 lead.Â

After the Gaels three goals, San Diego Lauren Tanner put another in for the Toreros in the 69th minute after she had time to shield off defenders and keep the ball away from SMC. The Gaels out shot San Diego 16-9 in the second half. The Gaels took a total of 28 shots this game allowing them to move 2-3-0 in Conference. Â
