SB | Gaels Release Full Slate of 2024 Contests

MORAGA, Calif. — Coming off of their highest win total in seven seasons in 2023, the Gaels have released their entire 50 game slate for the 2024 season. The Gaels return six starting players in the field and two of their three starting pitchers from a season ago, and will hope to continue the positive trajectory that the program is headed in.
About the upcoming season, Head Coach Sonja Garnett stated, "As our team concludes its fall season, we are excited to announce our schedule for 2024. Our schedule includes some traditional local opponents and teams from across the country, including Middle Tennessee, Idaho State and Montana. We will also face Oregon State, Cal and Stanford, which will be fun and challenging opponents. Our pre-conference schedule is designed to prepare us for our consistently improving conference opponents."
The season kicks off with three tournaments, as the Gaels will spend time on Highway 99 between Sacramento, Fresno and Bakersfield. The season opener will take place at UC Davis as a part of the NorCal Kickoff as the Gaels will take on Middle Tennessee in a neutral site contest on February 9 at 9:30 AM. Coming off of a 42 win season and a trip to the Tuscaloosa Regional, the Blue Raiders should be an excellent early test for the Gaels. Other opponents in this three tournament stretch include Sacramento State, UC Davis, San Jose State, Utah Valley, Oregon State, Fresno State, Montana and Cal State Bakersfield.
The Gaels first home series will span from March 1 to March 2, as Wagner College makes the trek all the way to Moraga from Staten Island for a three game set. Other marquee non-conference matchups include a single home matchup with 2023 NISC Champions Iowa, a home round robin tournament that will feature National Qualifier Marist and 30-win North Dakota State, and contests against Pac-12 powerhouses Cal and Stanford.
Conference play opens up April 12 as the Gaels host Pacific, followed by back-to-back road series at Santa Clara and San Diego. The season will close out May 9 -11 as the Gaels welcome defending WCC Champs LMU for a series that could decide the conference queens for 2024.
