Stats for both matches

LAST TIME OUT
The Gaels played in Santa Cruz last weekend at the Big West Coast, taking on three local opponents, including UC Davis. The match against the Aggies was the third on the day for SMC, and it stood as their only loss of the day, falling 4-1 to the Aggies, but winning in the fives as the day came to a close. The other two matches were conference games for Saint Mary's, and they swept their way past San Francisco and Pacific with finals of 5-0 in both. With those victories, that ensured that Megan Chandler Allred and Hailee Garcia went a perfect 3-0 on the day, the lone pair for Saint Mary's to get through the day unbeaten.

ABOUT UTAH
The Utes have been out in California for their last eight matches, where they've gone just 2-6, but they've also lost to some respectable opponents. Their first four losses of that stretch came against Arizona State, No. 12 Cal, No. 1 UCLA, and No. 7 Stanford, but they rebounded in a better fashion with midweek matches. They split on both Tuesday and Wednesday, playing Concordia and Hope International (win) on Tuesday and Santa Clara (win) and Cal Poly on Wednesday. With four wins already on the season, the Utes are just one win away from tying the most they've had in program history.

ABOUT UC DAVIS
The Aggies have gotten off to a perfect start to begin the 2023 spring season, dropping just points along the way. They were also at the Big West Coast last weekend, and before beating the Gaels, they took down San Francisco for the third time on the year, and they got past Santa Clara with a final of 4-1. Their schedule will toughen up as the season progresses, with future ranked matches on the way against schools like Pepperdine, Grand Canyon, Cal, and Hawaii. Since the program began in 2019, they've seen a steady rise from eight wins in their inaugural season to 14 last year, with their 7-0 start being the best in program history.
