Box Score SPOKANE, Wash. – Coming off an impressive comeback yesterday against Portland, the Gaels looked to pull off the weekend double as they took on the Gonzaga Bulldogs.Â
Â
TOUGH START
The Zags got the upper hand on the Gaels in the doubles matches, as SMC was only able to win one of the three matches.Â
Â
Jordan Harris and
Lene Mari Hovda stayed hot, as they cruised by the Bulldogs Adrianna Sosnowska and Kianna Oda 6-2.Â
Â
In the #3 match,
Olivia Rook and
Tian Yu Dong faced off against the Zags pairing of Tiegan Aitken and Rose Hayes. Despite a quick start for Saint Mary's, they were unable to hang with the Zags as Aitken and Hayes were able to win the match 6-2.
Â
The doubles point hinged on the #2 match, and it was the home team that was able to take advantage. SMC'sÂ
Iman Khan and
Stefanie Silva took on Gonzaga's Cate Broerman and Jenna Sloan. Khan and Silva played solid tennis, but the Bulldogs pairing was too much to handle for SMC, as Broerman and Sloan took over to match to win 6-3, clinching the doubles point with it.Â
Â
FIGHTING BACK
The Gaels looked to once again comeback from a 1-0 deficit entering the singles matches.
Â

Â
Stefanie Silva also continued her strong play from the day prior as she battled Gonzaga's Rose Hayes. Silva barely broke a sweat as she rolled over Hayes 6-2, 6-3.Â
Â
Despite some strong play in singles, the Zags were able to clinch the overall win over SMC in the #3 match.
Olivia Rook took on Gonzaga's Kianna Oda. Rook started off strong in the first set, but Oda was quickly able to settle her play and start dominating the match. Rook tried her best, but the Bulldogs player pulled away to win 6-3, 6-3, clinching the overall victory for the Zags.Â
