SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Briana Salvetti has been named the West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her three goals and one assist against No. 15 Washington State and Eastern Washington. 

On Thursday night, Salvetti helped the Gaels defeat the Washington State Cougars, the No. 15 ranked team in the country, 1-0 for their first loss of the season. The Gaels' leading scorer shined by giving them their only goal of the game by pressuring the keeper and hitting the back of the net in just the third minute of the game. The win gave SMC its first win over a top-25 ranked team since 2011 when they beat No.11 UC Irvine. 

Salvetti followed Thursday's performance by helping the Gaels to a 6-3 victory over Eastern Washington. She converted on a pair of penalty kick goals while distributing an assist to teammate Savannah Schwarze. 

Only a sophomore, Salvetti has helped the Gaels to a 5-2-1 record and is SMC's leading scorer with six goals, four assists, and 16 points.
