DAVIS, Calif. – Saint Mary's Men's Tennis continued their fall slate at the UC Davis Aggie Invitational with a doubles pair and three singles players advancing to day two.

The doubles tandem of
Thibaud Maxant and
Diego Jarry collected two wins to advance to Saturday's semifinals. They defeated Michal Wright and Alexander Aney of Cal 8-5 in the first round, and took down Max Fardanesh and Luke Bollinger of the host Aggies 8-2 in round two. They'll face Terence Das and Justas Trainauskas of Pacific at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday in the semis.

Jarry also advanced in singles play in the Flight A grouping, as did freshman
Paulo Hugo Etchecoin and
Pierre Lieutaud in Flight B, and
Arav Waghray in the Flight C bracket. Jarry beat Sam De Vries of UC Davis in two sets, 6-3, 6-4. He's scheduled to take on John Kim of Cal at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Etchecoin's first set versus Eduardo Gonzalez went to a tie breaker, and the freshman from Rio de Janeiro battled to a 7-6(7-5), 6-1 win over Eduardo Gonzalez of the Aggies. He'll take on Aney at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Lieutaud's second set went to a tie breaker in a 6-4, 7-6(7-5) win over Sacramento State's Rudolfs Aksenoks. Lidutaud will face Remy Tregoures of Nevada also at Saturday morning. Waghray had a convincing win in Flight C over Davide Cormiglia of USF, 6-1, 6-2. That sets him up for a match up with Ivan Savkin of UC Davis Saturday morning as well.

Felipe Rincon and Etchecoin won their round-of-16 match 8-4 over Ethan Schiffman and John Kim of Cal, before barely dropping their quarterfinal match 8-6 to Tiago Sliva and Riley Hillenbrand of Pacific.
