GAELS RECAP
The Gaels are in their best form of the season as they finish the month of October with an impressive 3-1-2 record and climb into a tie for fifth place, just three points off of the top spot in the conference after defeating San Diego 4-0.

With a quick start for the Gaels, SMC put up 12 shots in the first half. After relentless pressure in San Diego's defensive half, they would break through in the 39th minute as Romo was played into the box and slotted a beautiful left footed shot into the bottom corner for her second goal of the season.

Within four minutes coming out of the half, Saint Mary's doubled their lead as Middaugh would net her third goal of the season with a terrific header to the far corner off a cross from Molly Silva. The Gaels put another behind the net with Tessa Salvestrin's eighth goal of the season in the 71st minute. Off a free kick near midfield, the ball would be flicked on by Romo and Salvestrin would take it into the box and rifle a left footed shot past the keeper. Salvestrin ranks third in the WCC with eight goals and fifth with 45 shots on the year.

Emily Johnson was subbed late into the match and within 40 seconds of being on the field, Johnson put her right foot through a loose ball on a corner kick and found the net for her first career goal.

Saint Mary's has now scored four goals in a match twice this season and they finished with a season high 29 shots. Plachy did not have to make a save in the second half, with Romo putting together her best statistical performance of the season with a goal and two assists. The Gaels find themselves in a tie for fifth place with Portland at 11 points and are just a win away from Santa Clara, Pepperdine and Oregon State who sit at the top of the standings with four conference wins.

PACIFIC
The Tigers currently have an overall record of 2-14-1, 0-7 in conference. Pacific has defeated Houston Christian 2-1 and UC San Diego 1-0. They are looking to play their final home match against the Gaels and to win their first conference match of the season. Junior Alexis Pashales is the only Tiger to play and start in all 17 matches this season, leading Pacific in goals (5), 11 points, and 24 shots taken.

J.J. Wozniak and Danesha Adams have been working alongside each other as Co-Head Coach for the past three seasons. In 2021 the duo were named interim Co-Head Coaches and led the Tigers to their best record in 12 years at 10-6-3. The following season they were named WCC Coaches of the Year.
