WTEN | Gaels Take Down UC Davis in Aggies Territory

DAVIS, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Tennis team defeated UC Davis 4-2 in Aggie territory.
UC Davis secured the first point in the doubles, defeating duo Tuan Yu Dong and Juliette Daries and duo Olivia Rook and Madison Weekley. Stefanie Silva and Sofia Daryaie did not finish their set.
Daryaie tied the score 1-1, taking down her opponent Daisy Maunupau 6-3, 6-2. Dong fell short to Aggies Mika Ikemori 2-6, 2-6. Gaels dominated the next three singles to secure the team win.
In court 5, Rook defeated UC Davis Carly Schwartzberg 6-4, 6-1 to tie the score 2-2. The Gaels stopped the Aggie's with a Silva win 6-4, 7-5.
Iman Khan sealed it for Saint Mary's by outlasting Arianna Stavropoulos from UC Davis in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. The last singles with SMC Daries did not finish.
The Gaels will be competing at home tomorrow against the University of Nevada at 10:00 a.m.
