TRK | Gaels Competed in Multiple Events, Including Program First, On Day Two off The Riverfront Invite

SPOKANE, Wash. - The women continued to compete in multiple events and the men competed in the mile and 3000m on day two of the Riverfront Invitational.

Both women and men placed fairly well in the mile, with Rayna Stanziano finishing in sixth with a time of 4:53.87 and Molly Dreher running a PR with a time of 4:55.61 finishing in eighth. Curtis Volf was the first Gaels to finish for the men with a time of 4:15.64 in 11th place, shy of his best time by 0.04 seconds. Blaine Reynolds took 19th for the men, with a time of 4:17.27.

In the 3000m, the men secured ninth and 11th place with Jacob Moffett having a time of 8:40.98 and Cayden Hein with a time of 8:43.42. Klara Frih was the first female Gael to finish the 3000m in 15th with a time of 10:31.28 with Eleanor Jepsen 1.12 seconds behind her in 16th.

Jaden DeSouza, Kaitlin Laner, Ana Mercado, and Luz Mercado competed in the 4x400 finishing in 14th with a time of 3:54.45. Luz Mercado ran an SMC best with a 56 second split.

The women had Piper Kunesh and Lotte Van Schaik compete in the 400m both hitting PRs. Kunesh hit a PR by 3.36 seconds and Van Schaik improved by 3.21 seconds from her previous time.

The Gaels also competed in multiple first events in program history. Regina Molitoris participated as the Gaels first shot putter, McKenna Burrows and Kitty Tang ran the 60m dash,Tang jumped in the triple jump and Jaden DeSouza ran in the 60m hurdles.

At the end of the meet Head Coach Marty Kinsey said "I'm super proud of the team this weekend. We continue to grow the program in many ways and it's so much fun to see the progress each of them are making from all their hard work. Such a fun team to be around!"
