SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Jaden DeSouza broke a school record, along with multiple Gaels hitting new PRs and coming in first for their heat.
DeSouza made history for Saint Mary's today with a school record in the 400 hurdles event coming in fourth overall, finishing first in her heat, hitting a new PR, and clocking in at 1:04.26.
In the 800 meters, SMC had two heat winners and two runners who hit new PRs. Luz Mercado was the first Gaels to finish and winner of her heat with a time of 2:12.11. Molly Dreher hit a new PR coming in 0.63 seconds behind Mercado.
Elizabeth Nip reached a new PR with a time of 2:22.71 in the 800 meters and Kaitlin Laner came in first for her heat.
Not only did Saint Mary's excel in the 800 meters, the Gaels hit new PRs in the 200 meters with Hailey Vines coming in at 27.49 and Laner finishing with a time of 28.00.
In the 1500 meter, Michaela Martin finished with a new personal time coming in at 4:53.71.
