The Gaels competed against UCSD in the mornings and faced off against Kansas State in the evening last Sunday.
The morning varsity 8+ clocked in slightly under seven minutes, with a time of 6:59.7 coming in behind UC San Diego. The second varsity 8+ boat trailed UCSD by 12.8 seconds, but 17.9 seconds faster than the Tritons 3v boat.
Not only did the team have two varsity 8+ boats, SMC also competed in the varsity 4+ placing third, 24.1 seconds before the Hornets, but 38.4 seconds behind UCSD and 35 seconds behind the 2v boat for UC San Diego.
The evening varsity 8+ boat fell 7.7 seconds short behind Kansas State. The second varsity 8+ came in last behind the Kansas State's main boat and their 3v boat.
The varsity 4+ boat came in third out of fourth behind the Kansas State main boat and Kansas State 2v boat. The Gaels finished with a time of 8:29.5, 40.3 seconds faster than Sac State 3v boat.
