MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Women's Tennis team extended their win streak to four with a back and forth battle against Portland.

The Pilots and the Gaels battled it out in the doubles as Portland Iva Zelic and Sally Pethybridge secured the first match. The Gaels Juliette Daries and MiaAngelina Ruja finished second with a 6-1 win over Aleksandra Dimitrijevic and Megan Pearson. The Pilots secured the doubles point defeating SMC duo Stefanie Silva and Sofia Daryaie 6-2.

Silva evened out the score for the Gaels taking the first singles point by defeating Portland Dimitrijevic 6-3, 6-1. Saint Mary took the lead going up 2-1 as Juliette Daries beat Alaia Rubio Perez 6-2, 7-5. The Gaels secured another point with Daryaie taking down Pilots Pearson 7-5, 6-3.

Saint Mary's hit a bit of a cold spell losing the next two single sets to Portland's Pethybridge and Zelic, tying the score 3-3.

The winning point was between SMC's Rook and Pilots Rimona Rouf. Their match was one of two to go into three sets. Rook won the first match 6-2, then Rouf 6-3. Rook came out on top with a 6-4 win, giving the Gaels the fourth point to defeat Portland 4-3.
