TRK | Last Time for the Gaels in the 2024 Season

HAYWARD, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Track and Field Team competed at the West Coast Last Chance Meet held at Chabot College, placing high in all events.
The Women's Team
Once again leading the Gaels in the 1500 meter was Rayna Stanziano finishing as the first place winner with a time of 4:18.30, being her season best time. Stanziano has already qualified for the NCAA Prelims. Molly Dreher came in right behind her with her best time of 4:21.56, being on the bubble of qualifying for NCAA. Luna Mole secured fifth place with a new best time of 4:38.90, along with Kaitlin Laner finishing with her personal best of 5:02.82.
Kaylee Barnes made her debut in the 3000 meter steeplechase, breaking a school record with a time of 10:49.26.
The women's 4x400 meter relay finished first overall and second best of all time with a time of 3:53.30. The runners on the team were Jaden DeSouza, Stanziano, Ana Mercado, and Luz Mercado.

The Men's Team
Eric Martinez paced the Gaels in the 3000 meter as he finished third overall with a time of 8:30.06. Saint Mary's continued to dominate in this event as they took fourth with Cayden Hein, time of 8:30.16, fifth as Francisco Felix finished with a time of 8:35.71, and sixth with Curtis Volf finishing with a time of 8:37.10.
Martinez continued to dominate as he raced in the 1500 meter finishing fourth overall with a time of 3:51.89. Jason Habash came in right behind him by 0.3 seconds, taking fifth place.
Habash took fourth in the 800 meter with a time of 1:52.79 and freshman Alexandro Alvarez took sixth with a time of 1:56.41.
Up next for the Gaels are the NCAA Prelims that begin on Wednesday May 22nd.
