MORAGA, Calif. - On Tuesday, June 11th, the full 2024 Saint Mary's men's soccer schedule was released with the team's first non-conference contest slated for August 22nd in the program's first ever matchup with the Kansas City Roos, DI member out of the the Summit League. After an 8-7-2 overall record in 2023, the Gaels will look to contest for their first league title and NCAA tournament appearance since 2019 with a deep and competitive recruiting class and all-conference returners in

Luke Lawrence,
Wade Muttitt and
Justin Sosa.
EXHIBITION CONTESTS
Head coach
Adam Cooper enters his 19th season leading the Gaels and stands as the program's winningest coach with 164 career wins and four NCAA Tournament appearances. Saint Mary's will kickoff their exhibition schedule on the road against Santa Clara on August 12th and then play a home contest against DII member Sonoma State on Saturday, August 17th.
KEY DATES
In their first matchup in program history, the Gaels will battle the Roos of Kansas City for their first official game of the 2024 season on Thursday August 22nd. They will conclude their two game homestand to start the season on Sunday the 25th against Cal Poly Slo, the program's 20th matchup with the Mustangs.
Saint Mary's will then hit the road for three straight games which features a battle with the three-time National Champion Stanford Cardinal and then an east coast road trip with games against Boston University and Dartmouth. Once again, the Gaels will take on the Terriers for the first time in program history and then they will return the favor and take on Dartmouth in New Hampshire after a 2-1 win at home last season.
The Gaels will kickoff WCC action on September 28th in Southern California as they take on reigning league champs San Diego. Their conference home opener will take place on Saturday, October 5th against LMU followed by the program's 9th matchup with Oregon State as they come over from the Pac12 along with Washington State for the 2024-25 athletic year.
SMC will pause from conference action and take on Cal on October 22nd for their final non-conference game of the 2024 campaign. They will head over to Berkeley for a 3:00 PM kickoff.
RIVALRY WEEK
Two of the team's final three games of the regular season will feature rivals Gonzaga and San Francisco. The Gaels will get both games at home in Moraga and will look to avenge a 3-2 road defeat to the Zags from last season. SMC netted three second half goals to down the Dons in 2023, extending their unbeaten streak against San Francisco to six games dating back to 2018 (4-0-2).
