WTRACK | Gaels Dominate for Meet Win at the Bay Area invite

SAN FRANCISCO — It was a great day to be a Gael, as Saint Mary's Women's Track ran away with the meet win at the Bay Area, hosted by San Francisco State. The Gaels finished with 114 points, besting local foes Santa Clara and Pacific amongst other schools it yet another strong showing in the early part of track season.
The biggest highlight of the day for the Gaels was a new program record in the 4x100m race. The quartet of Aleah Castro, McKenna Burrows, Alexandra Davis-Libiano and Maddie Dwyer threw down a time of 51.24, winning the race for the Gaels. In the 1500m, Anna Ranieri, Jane Carney, Jane Harig, Elizabeth Nip, Andrea Villegas, Sofia Mastroianni and Lauren Buckley all PRd, while Elanor Jepsen paced the Gaels in the race with a seventh place finish. Jaden DeSouza and Ana Mercado went 1-2 in the 800m, while Rayna Stanziano and Emily Field went 1-2 in the 5000m, with Stanziano hitting a regional qualifying mark at 16:01.80 and Field setting a new PR at 17:32.64. In the field events, Regina Molitoris won the shot put with a throw of 9.64m.
The Gaels will spend next weekend at the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento.
