MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's men's golf team will get right back in the saddle this week as they return to Michigan to compete in this year's Jim DeLapa Collegiate hosted by Central Michigan. The Gaels will go into the history books for the event this weekend as it marks the first edition of the Jim DeLapa Collegiate. Point O'Woods Golf and Country Club has a rich history of amateur golf events after hosting the well known Western Amateur for nearly 40 years spanning from the early 1960's to 2019.
A clean slate might be exactly what Saint Mary's needs after failing to move up the leaderboard in last week's event in Washington. First round action for the Jim DeLapa Collegiate will start Sunday morning at 9:00 AM eastern time. The Gaels will play 36 holes on the opening day followed by the final round on Monday as they seek their second top-five finish to start their fall campaign.

LAST TIME OUT (10th place at The Tindall)
Head coach
Scott Hardy is rolling out the same starting five as he has for the team's previous two events this fall. After a near three week layoff following the opening event, Saint Mary's went to Bremerton, Washington and placed tenth in The Tindall.
Sam Baumuller and
Avery Lazarski combined to shoot two-under in the opening round to put the Gaels in the top-five, but as a team they would combine to shoot four-over-par over their final two rounds to fall to tenth place.
The low round of the week went to
Aidan Lee who put together a 70 (-2) in his second round. Lee finished t-30th individually while second year Gael
Inigo Izuzquiza finished t-33rd after a pair of 72's. Redshirt sophomore
James Williams will also make the trip for Saint Mary's to compete as an individual after competing last week in the same position at The Tindall.
