BVB | Couch Named to Preseason All-WCC Team

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Beach volleyball season kicks off in eight days for the Saint Mary's Gaels, and with the season right around the corner, the WCC has named their preseason all-conference list. On the list is a familiar face, senior Hannah Couch. Couch is coming off of an all-conference nod in 2025, and looks to be the bonafide leader of this Gael squad.
A two-time All-WCC honoree, Hannah Couch enters her senior season with a career record of 59-44, giving her both the seventh most wins and seventh most matches played in program history. A season ago, the Lake Tapps, Washington native played exclusively in the Gaels top flight, going 24-11 with key wins over the top pairs from Arizona and Washington. She had an incredible performance at the 2025 Heineken Queen's Cup, taking home defensive player of the tournament honors.
As a team, the Gaels were picked to finish in fourth in the preseason coaches poll, behind LMU, Pepperdine and Santa Clara. Saint Mary's finished in third place in the WCC Regular Season standings a year ago, before finishing in fourth place in the WCC Tournament.
Couch and the Gaels open their season in Houston, Texas on February 20 and 21, taking part in the Third Coast College Classic.
