BVB | Gaels Sweep Pair of Contests on Soggy Saturday in Stockton
4/11/2026 9:21:00 PM | Women's Beach Volleyball
STOCKTON, Calif. — The Saint Mary's beach volleyball team braved the heavy rainfall in Stockton to walk away with a pair of Ws on Saturday afternoon, 3-2 over Cal State Bakersfield and 3-0 over Pacific. The Gaels added to their already program-record win tally, picking up wins 22 and 23 of the year, and will have a chance to tie and break their season-long win streak of five straight matches with a pair of contests tomorrow.
The day began with a hard fought victory over the Roadrunners of Cal State Bakersfield. Hannah Glick and Barett Nolan got things going with a dominant 21-10, 21-10 victory at the fives, moving to 18-2 together on the season. The Roadrunners leveled things off at one all with a win at the fours, but Alisia Silvethorn and Annah Legaspi put the Gaels on the brink of victory with a win at the threes, their 14th as a pair this season, but their first as the Gaels three flight. At the ones, it was Genevieve Bane and Angelina Bour who put things away. The Gaels top flight needed extra points in the second set, but salted away the victory at 25-23 to go along with their hard-fought 21-19 set one victory. Cal State Bakersfield would take the twos, but the match had already been decided in favor of the Gaels.
Due to heavy rainfall, the Gaels next match against the host Tigers was halted after the clinching point was scored, but the Gaels made quick work of their WCC foe, winning 3-0. Back together for the first time in three weeks, Angelina Bour and Clarissa Klein picked up the wins at the twos to start the match, moving to 9-3 as the Gaels most successful two flight this year. Genevieve Bane and Zoe Joshua finished shortly thereafter at the ones, with Joshua picking up her first collegiate victory. The match was ended by Bella Reyes and Alisia Silverthorn at the fours, logging their second win as a pair in three tries, and their first from the four flight.
The Gaels will finish out their four game weekend in Stockton tomorrow, taking on UC Davis at 2 PM and San Jose State at 4 PM. If the Gaels can win both, they will have logged their first six match win streak of the season.
