Sam Baumuller Earns Golf’s First Student-Athlete of the Week Award after Top-10 Finish at N.I.T.

MORAGA, Calif. - For the first time in his SMC career, redshirt freshman Sam Baumuller took home this week's Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week award after his 10th place finish at the N.I.T. in Tucson last week.
Saint Mary's finished in a tie for fourth place in a deep field and were the top WCC school at 20-under-par. Baumuller was the Gaels standout with his t-10th place finish at 7-under-par over his three rounds. He recorded a low round of 67 (-5) in the second round which featured four birdies and an eagle on the par five 10th. This was his fourth top-10 finish of the 2025-26 campaign and 7-under went down as his second lowest tournament score of his career after finishing 11-under in the Island Resort Intercollegiate back in September.
Saint Mary's will head to Hawaii for the annual John Burns Intercollegiate starting on Thursday, February 12th for their second event of the spring season. Additional tournament information and live scoring links can be found at smcgaels.com.
