WTEN | Gaels Battle in Singles Play but Fall to Grand Canyon in the Desert

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team went to Phoenix to take on Grand Canyon but fell 4-0 to the Lopes for its seventh loss of the spring season Saturday afternoon.
The Gaels dropped the doubles point in straight sets but were able to stay alive in three of the six duals in singles play. Sofia Daryaie, Elif Tuana Gunal and true freshman Sophie Stanton all went unfinished in their singles match while first-year Gael Sydney Wilson and senior Madison Weekley fell in straight sets to clinch the 4-0 sweep for Grand Canyon.

Saint Mary's is coming down the final stretch of its non-conference schedule as they'll head south to take on UC Riverside and Long Beach State in two of its final three non-conference matches of the season. Match information and live scoring links can be found at smcgaels.com.
