

WT&F | Gaels Continue Strong Early Season Success at Cal Invitational

BERKELEY, Calif. — Continuing their successful season thus far, Saint Mary's women's track and field once again showed up and showed out, this week at the Cal Invitational.
Madison Dwyer led the way for the Gaels in the 100 meter dash, finishing the race in 13.03, the fifth fastest time in program history. Freshman Terra Pandolfi followed her in 13.18, tying for the seventh fastest time in program history. Earning their personal best times were Faviola Quintana (13.41) and Breanna Bailey (14.22).
Allie Davis-Libiano paced Saint Mary's in both the 200 and 400 meters, recording personal bests in each event. The junior posted 26.53 in the 200m and 1:00.45 in the 400m. Pandolfi (26.89) and Bailey (29.10) also turned in personal best performances.
Freshman Averie Peterson finished first for the Gaels in the 800-meter, placing thirteenth overall and clocking her personal best time of 2:19.52. Alexis Ortiz earned her personal best, finishing the race in 2:25.88.
Finishing first for the Gaels in the 1500 meters was freshman Maya Crimin, placing seventeenth overall with her best time of 4:41.18. Next in was fellow freshman Courtney Fitzgibbon, who recorded her personal best time of 4:42.60. Also earning her personal best time in the 1500m was Jane Carney who finished the race in 5:09.83.
Saint Mary's competed in the hammer throw for the first time in program history, with Alexys Carlson and Eliza Wong marking throws of 40.43m and 34.87m, respectively. Carlson and Wong also competed in the javelin throw, recording throws of 24.29m and 24.18m. Carlson's throw places her fifth all-time in program history and Wong's throw ranks sixth.
The Gaels will return to action at the West Coast Relays on March 28 in Fresno.
