WTEN | Gaels Fall to No. 42 Toreros in WCC Action

MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team fell to No. 42 San Diego Thursday afternoon in West Coast Conference action. The Gaels are entering a tough stretch of ranked opponents in the WCC as the Toreros won their fourth conference match of the season in a clean 7-0 sweep of the Gaels.
In doubles play, Sofia Daryaie/Sophie Stanton went unfinished as the pair was clawing their way back down 5-3 out of the top doubles spot for the Gaels. Saint Mary's did not have a third doubles pair due to injury as San Diego secured the doubles point with a 6-1 win in the number two position. Daryaie and Madison Weekley each took a set in singles play but the Toreros secured the match win with wins out of the second, fourth and fifth positions.
