Biography
AS A SENIOR (2020-21): Appeared in all 14 matches … named WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention and ITA Scholar Athlete with a 3.95 GPA … went 6-5 in doubles playing mostly in the team’s No. 2 slot alongside Jocelyn Massey … won six straight doubles matches from Feb. 12 to Mar. 27 … played in 10 singles matches and picked up a win against Grace Dodd of Sacramento State.
AS A JUNIOR (2019-20): Played in seven spring matches … named WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention after the season … went 3-2 in singles action … had a huge three-set tiebreaker win against No. 43 Furman as the Gaels’ No. 6 seed to help beat the Paladins … took a straight set win 6-3, 6-2 against Oregon’s Madisen Olsen … was up 5-3 against Sacramento State with Mariia Kozyreva in her only spring doubles match before it was called … did not appear in any fall tournaments.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2018-19): Earned Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor … recorded a 2-4 singles record while playing as the No. 5 and No. 6 seed … competed in the doubles Round of 16 with Mariia Kozyreva at the ITA Northwest Regionals … went 1-6 on doubles courts while collecting a victory against Fresno State with Jordan Harris … picked up a doubles victory with Kozyreva in the Doubles A bracket of the SMC invite.
AS A FRESHMAN (2017-18): Critical doubles player on court No. 3 with Clementine Clement... went 7-6 in doubles matches with wins at BYU, versus Portland, San Jose State and Santa Clara... played in unfinished singles matches at No. 8 Texas Tech and No. 13 UCLA... claimed Cal Invite Gold Flight Doubles championship with Mariia Kozyreva... advanced to Round of 32 in singles at Cal Invite... moved to Round of 16 at SMC Invitational in singles competition.
PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: A native of Le daupiné, France, Ville brings global success and great talent from the International Tennis Federation (ITF)… During her years as a junior on the ITF tour, Ville reached the semifinal of a major tournament in Luxembourg... Ville was also ranked No. 800 in the ITF junior rankings en route to regional championships and playing in the national championship at the famed clay courts of the French Open at Roland Garros in Paris… Recruited by several schools such as Fresno State, USF, DePaul and Tennessee, Ville ultimately chose to become a Gael because of the coaching staff and academic goals… A multi-sport athlete, Ville lettered in multiple sports during her time at Aristide Berges High School… She participated in badminton, handball, swimming, track and field, gymnastics and dance… Daughter to Christophe and Nathalie, Aubane has two older siblings, Gabin and Malo... Aubane hopes to one day play on the professional circuit in the WTA.
