AS A SENIOR (2021)
Indoor: Appeared in 25 matches during her senior season, missing two matches due to injury...one of six Gaels to record at least 100 kills on the year, finishing with a career-best 106 (1.19 kills per set)...set a career-best with a .205 hitting percentage...recorded the first aces of her career and finished with eight (three came against Sacramento State on September 4)...tied a career-best in kills with 13 at home against Loyola Marymount on October 7...set a new personal record with eight total blocks (one solo, seven assisted) on Senior Day against #4 BYU on November 20...ended the season with the second most blocks on SMC with 71.
AS A JUNIOR (2020-21)
Indoor: Appeared in 13 of the 17 matches for Saint Mary's as a junior, making a pair of starts...ended the year with 52 kills in 50 sets, and totaled 1.32 points per set...attacked at a 15.6% clip on the year...one of the Gaels best blockers, recording three solo blocks and 22 assisted blocks for the fifth-best total blocks number (25) on the team...set a career-best in kills when she put up nine without an attack error in a five-set win over Portland on February 23...the next night, recorded four total blocks to tie her season-best (also had four against Santa Clara on March 18)...named WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Beach: Appeared in 17 matches for Saint Mary's during the 2021 beach season and went 11-6...paired with All-WCC Freshman First Team member Makenna Joyce to score the third-most wins of any Gaels pair...went 10-6 in the fifth slot, the most wins of any fifth-pair this season...along with Joyce, led the Gaels in ranked wins with five on the season: #18 Stanford, #5 LMU, #11 Pepperdine (twice), and #6 Cal Poly...named WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2019-20)
Indoor: Saw action in 23 matches and 70 sets for SMC during her sophomore year...Collected 57 kills and one assist over the course of the season...Ended with 45 total blocks including one block solo and 44 block assists for an average of 0.64 per set...Recorded her season-high in kills (6) and blocks (6) during the same match against Pepperdine on October 19.
Beach: Appeared in all eight matches for the Gaels during the 2020 season…along with teammate Alexsa Parker, went 4-4 on the year, winning their final four matches of the season…swept three matches in a row at the WCC/Big West Challenge on March 7…won their only conference bout against Santa Clara on March 10.
AS A FRESHMAN (2018-19)
Indoor:
Did not play during her freshman year with the Gaels.
Beach: Christensen went 19-9 during her first year with the Gaels beach volleyball team. Went on a six-match win streak early in the season with her partner Chandler Cowell during which time they beat Stanford twice and once when they were ranked. After switching partners halfway through the season, Christensen went 7-12 with Morgan Kendrick ... Helped SMC to secure third place at the WCC Championships.
PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S:Â Christensen came to the Gaels via Oregon and South Salem High School, where she was a multi-faceted power player for the Saxons ... She posted over 360 kills in back-to-back seasons, including 425 her senior season of 2017, while also logging more than 200 digs in consecutive years ... Christensen was also been a force on the block for SSHS, totaling 85 blocks in her final two varsity seasons ... Named the Greater Valley League Player of the Year as a senior in 2017 after a dominating campaign that included 425 kills, 250 digs and 50 blocks ... She earned three straight all-league accolades during her career, including back-to-back first team all-GVL honors in 2016 and '17 ... She was also named to the Oregon School Activities Association all-tournament second team after helping lead South Salem High to a fourth-place finish in the 6A championship.
Favorite volleyball memory: Beating the University of Hawaii my freshman year during beach season in the Hawaii season opener tournament.  Â
