Women's Tennis Vollied by UC Santa Barbara 6-1

Sacramento, CA - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team (5-9) was defeated by the Gauchos of UC Santa Barbara 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.
Saint Mary's lost all but one match as Annie Wolford defeated Anne Marie Hense 6-4, 5-7, 10-7 (super tiebreak). It was only the third loss of the season for Hense and Wolford improved her overall mark to 9-5 and 3-1 at number-two singles.
In the three other singles matches, Saint Mary's lost in straight sets. The Gaels had to default their matches at number-five and six singles. The Gaels also lost both doubles matches by scores of 8-6 and 8-4 before heading in to singles play.
Saint Mary's returns to the courts on Friday, April 6 when it hosts Santa Clara at 3:00 p.m.
