
Women's Basketball Signs Savannah Williams For 2001-02

Moraga, CA (April 11) - Saint Mary's women's basketball head coach Michelle Jacoby announced today that Savannah Williams (Vallejo, CA) signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Gaels next season.
The 5'10" guard is a four-year varsity basketball player at Vallejo High School, where she was named the Monticello Empire League Most Valuable Player for the 2001 season. Williams was voted the Co-Most Valuable Player in the MEL for 2000, and led Vallejo to league championships her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. As a senior, she helped her team to the CIF Regionals. Williams is the 17th ranked high school guard in the nation according to the scouting service Grass Roots.
Coach Jacoby commented, "We're very fortunate to have such a talented student athlete come in. By the end of her career she's gong to be a tremendous basketball player-she's already a great person. She'll be a great fit at Saint Mary's."
