As a senior (2012): Was named to West Coast Confernece Pre-Season All-Conference Team as voted on by the coaches...was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career on 3/5...with his base hit against Oregon State on 3/1 he became just the eighth player in Saint Mary's history to eclipse the 200 hit plataeu...played in just 33 games after breaking his hamate bone...finished the season tops on the team with a .349 batting average...finished the season with 44 hits, 41 of them coming before 4/7...tallied a .399 on base percentage and a .492 slugging percentage...hit .387 with runners on base going 24-for-62....hit .353 with two outs...in WCC play he hit .341 in 12 games recorded 15 hits, scoring three runs with four doubles a triple and a home run with seven RBI...finished the year with 12 multiple-hit games including six games with three or mor ehits...had seven multiple-RBI games...reached base 11 consecutive times to begin the season, that streak was snapped when he went 0-for-4 without a walk against No. 2 Stanford on 3/6...his four hits against No. 11 Arizona State on 3/4 was a new career-high...went 4-for-4 with two RBI and three doubles against Pepperdine on 4/6...went 2-for-4 with his first collegiate triple against San Francisco on 5/26...the triple was his last hit as a Gael.
Summer of 2011: Played for the Peninsula Oilers of the Alaska Baseball League with teammates Ben Griset, Jordan Mills and Patrick Wisdom...helped the Oilers go 29-15 and win the ABL title and advance to the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kansas...was named the 15th best prospect in the ABL according to PerfectGame.org...he hit .296 on the year, clubbed 10 doubles and five home runs while driving in 26 RBI...in the NBC Games he hit .400 (4-for-10) with a double an RBI and four runs scored.
As a junior (2011): Already the all-time leader in home runs, Channing set the RBI record with a two run home run against Portland on Friday May 6...Channing finished the season with eight home runs and 27 RBI's giving him 156 career runs batted in...through three seasons Channing is averaging a home run every 13.7 at bats and averages .96 RBI per game...finished the year hitting .254 (53-for-201)...the 53 hits was third on the team, he now has 188 career base hits which is 10th all-time at SMC...led the team with a 17 game reached base safely streak, going from 3/13-4-12...on 3/25 against New Orleans he was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle...hit .384 (5-for-13) in the series at USF...hit .416 (5-for-12) with a home run in the series against LMU.
Summer of 2010: Played his summer baseball for the Brewster's Whitecaps of the Cap Code League.
As a sophomore (2010): Was a First Team All-West Coast Conference selection as a sophomore...started all 52 games, and has started all 107 games for Saint Mary's in his two seasons...was second on the team with a .310 batting average...led the team with 15 home runs, 54 RBI, 57 hits, 38 runs scored, a .603 slugging percentage, a .465 on base percentage, and 43 walks...tied for the team lead with six stolen bases...was fourth on the team with nine doubles...had at least one hit in 39 of 52 games...had two or more hits in 16 games with three hits three times...had a two home run game against UC Irvine on Mar. 5 when he drove in five runs...also hit two home runs, with a grand slam and a season-high six RBI in a 19-11 win over Southern Mississippi on Apr. 1...homered in back-to-back at-bats in a double header against Seattle University, going deep in the ninth inning of game one, and the first inning of game two...was 7-for-20 with nine RBI in the 4-game series against Seattle...had a ninth inning grand slam against Santa Clara to help the Gaels post a 10-4 win over the Broncos on Apr. 23...was walked 43 times, which ranks fifth in a single season at SMC to lead the WCC in walks...was second in the conference in home runs and third in runs batted in...posted a season-long 10-game hitting streak from Mar. 20-Apr. 2...also had a 7-game and a 6-game hit streak...reached base safely in 49-of-52 games.
As a freshman (2009): Named a semi-finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, given annually to the player of the year…named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team…named West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year, All-WCC Team, WCC All-Freshman Team…started all 55 games for the Gaels…made his Saint Mary's debut on 2/20 versus Oregon…won the West Coast Conference Triple Crown leading the league in homeruns, RBI and batting average…finished the year hitting .376 with 20 homeruns and 75 driven in…set the Saint Mary's single season record for homeruns and RBI…led all freshman in the nation in homeruns and slugging percentage and was second in the nation in RBI…named to the Bearkatt Baseball All-Tournament Team for the Sam Houston State tournament in which he hit .571 going 8-for-14 with two runs scored and six driven in with a double and two home runs…was named WCC player of the month for the month of March in which he hit .417 with 10 home runs and 37 RBI…was twice named WCC player of the week on 3/2 and again on 3/16…broke the Saint Mary's single season record for homeruns on 4/25 against Loyola Marymount…hit his first collegiate homerun on 2/21 versus Oregon…led the team with 26 multi-hit games, 21 multi-RBI games and had the seasons longest hitting streak with a 17 game hit streak.
High School: Came to Saint Mary's by way of Foothill High School in Pleasanton, CA...while at Foothill he was a four-year letterman for baseball...he is a three-time all-league honoree...in 2008 he was First Team All-East Bay, First Team All-League, and team MVP following a monster year in which he hit .475 going 29-for-61, knocking in 25 runs and scoring 28 runs...of his 29 hits, 16 were for extra bases clubbing five doubles, four triples and seven long-balls...his seven homeruns is a Foothill HS single season record...that same year he also collected 10 multi-hit games...in the June Major League Baseball Amateur Draft he was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 40th round...his junior season he hit .380 with seven doubles and six homeruns, while being named First Team All-League...was also a member of the 2006 USA Baseball National Championship team in the Junior Olympics...was also recruited by Cal, Arizona State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, and Pepperdine...chose Saint Mary's because of the competitive baseball while receiving a quality education...he plans on majoring in Communications and his post graduate plans include a desire to continue his baseball career or pursue a career in advertising.
