MORAGA, Calif. -- On the heels of a 7-1 start to begin the spring season, Saint Mary's women's tennis player Jenny Jullien moved up to No. 24 in the latest singles rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Monday.
Jullien's ascension to No. 24 represented a 40-spot jump for the native of Perpignan, France. She began the season ranked No. 64 in the country.
A hot start to begin the season for Jullien included a 4-1 record against ranked opponents. It was highlighted by a win over then No. 9-ranked Anett Schutting of Cal at the Cal Winter Invitational.
Even Jullien's lone loss was an impressive one. It came against Cal's Zsofi Susanyi, who moved into a tie for the No. 1 spot in the rankings on Monday.
Saint Mary's (4-3) remained in the top 50 in the latest team rankings, dropping five spots to No. 45.
The Gaels have won three straight, and will put that winning streak on the line Saturday at noon when they travel to take on No. 7 Stanford.
