SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Hayley Hendricksen of the Saint Mary's women's basketball team has been named to the 2014-15 West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, it was announced by the WCC office on Friday. Amanda Arter was an honorable mention selection.
Both Hendricksen and Arter were All-Academic honorable mention in 2013-14. Hendricksen maintains a 3.58 GPA in Biopsychology while being a starter for the Gaels. This season she is averaging over eight points and six rebounds per game, including a career-high 24 points and 12 rebound game against Sacramento State. She ranks second on the team in both field-goal and free-throw percentage. Her 48 percent career field-goal percentage ranks just outside the SMC all-time top-10.
Arter maintains a 3.306 GPA in Accounting. She is one of the Gaels' first players off the bench and recently poured in a career-high 16 points on the road at league champion Gonzaga.
Nomination Criteria:
(1) Own a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average based on the most recently completed term at the time of the nomination (e.g., A men's soccer nomination would be based on the GPA from the previous spring term) (2) Be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials (3) Have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence completed at the nominating institution (4) Participate in at least 50 percent of the institution's completed contests.
True freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers were not eligible to be nominated.
