SANTA CLARA, Calif. — On the last day at the Bronco Invitational, Vanessa Nommensen once again showcased strong play, as the first year player dominated her singles match to remain perfect at the three-day tournament.
In the singles contest, Nommensen imposed her dominance from start to finish. Facing Delic of Nevada, she broke serve and gained the 6-4 advantage in the first set. Nommensen then quickly secured the match after a 6-0 win in the second set.
Saint Mary's will now enjoy the next two months off before its next scheduled event. The Gaels will be back in competitive action in the new year on Jan.13-15 for the Cal Winter Invitational held at Berkeley.
