WTEN | Gaels Finish Day 3 of SMC Invite With a Win

Saint Mary's Mariia Kozyreva and Aubane Ville won their doubles bracket 8-3 on the last day of the tournament.
MORAGA, Calif. — The Gaels finished out the SMC Invitational on Sunday as Mariia Kozyreva and Aubane Ville picked up a win in their doubles match in the final round of the tournament.
Saint Mary's competed in one doubles match on Day 3 of the invite and the match ended positively for the Gaels. Kozyreva and Ville faced off against Wisconsin's Makarova/Pick in the Doubles A bracket and won decisively, 8-3.
In the Singles A bracket, freshman Chloe Goyette dropped her match against Maria Smith from Cal 7-6, 6-4. Saint Mary's Liesl Pieters forced a close match against USF's Colyer, but despite the solid performance, Colyer topped Pieters, 7-5, 6-7, 7-6.
