

TRK | Gaels Finish Strong at Hornet Invite, Dozier Lands Top Spot

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Gaels stayed local on Saturday as the men's and women's teams competed at the Hornet Invite and picked up some solid finishes.
For the women's team, it was another successful day of races with a number of strong finishes. Kaela Dishion completed a personal record in the women's 1500 meter race with a time of 4:49.60. Elle Burbank also completed a personal record in the same race with a 4:50.34 finish time. Abby Bolt took the top spot for the Gaels in the 1500 (18th - 4:43.45) and Emma McCarthy took top spot for the Gaels in the 800 meter race (19th - 2:21.16).
For the men's team, there were also a good deal of key finishes including a first place finish. Nolan Dozier secured first place in the 5000 meter race with a time of 14:31.93. Alex Riggsby (4:04.91) and Moses Bojorquez (4:03.51) both raced personal records for the 1500 meter, while Michael Lopez (2:02.99) and Anthony Vasquez (1:56.88) collected personal records in the 800 meter.
"This was an excellent tune-up for the San Francisco State meet in two weeks," said head coach Marty Kinsey. "Overall I'm very impressed with how we competed in each race."
